Anti Wrinkle Injections are a safe and effective treatment is used to soften and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Anti-wrinkle injections are a prescription medicine used to improve the look of moderate to severe dynamic wrinkles and lines on a temporary basis. It is made from a purified protein, produced by bacterium clostridium botulinum, also known as botulinum toxin.

How do Anti- Wrinkle Injections Work?
Botulinum toxin is delivered in very small doses to the desired treatment area, in turn temporarily blocking signals from the nerves to the muscle. The injected muscle can no longer contract which causes fine lines and wrinkles to relax and soften.
Treatment Process
Prior to Treatment:
During your medical consultation an assessment will take place along with your medical history and make sure you are suitable for the treatment.
Treatment:
The Botulinum toxin will be injected precisely into the treatment areas and takes around 15 minutes to complete. The result will gradually appear and final result will be achieved 2 weeks after the treatment
Post Treatment:
Patients might feel slight sensitivity in the area for the twenty-four hours, which settles on its own. No down time or recovery is required and normal activities can resume immediately. However it is advisable not to lie down for a couple of hours after the treatment and avoid strenuous activity/saunas/other facial treatments for up to 24 hours.
Avoid touching, rubbing or applying makeup on the treated areas for 4 hours. It is best to avoid alcohol and exposure to excessive sunlight, at least two days prior to treatment. Aspirin should be stopped five days before treatment in order to reduce bruising.

Micro-needling can be safely performed on all skin types and colours.
Straight after the treatment, you may have a small amount of redness and swelling – this will usually resolve within ten minutes. Most people experience no pain or side effects, a small number get a mild headache after the treatment, but these usually subside within 24 hours. You will be given post-treatment information which outlines all of the details and post-care advice.
You should not have this treatment if:
- The injection site is infected
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have a neuromuscular disorder (e.g. myasthenia gravis).
On average 3-6 months however results can vary from one person to another. In order to achieve the best prevention of ageing lines, it is recommended to have the treatment regularly every 4 months.
Not at all, there are various options. It may be that Micro-needling or facial peels are possible alternatives for you. A consultation beforehand will help you determine which treatment is suitable for you.
