Chemical Skin peels offer a revolutionary way to effectively treat aging skin, acne, reduce sun damage and hyperpigmentation.
Chemical peels involve the application of a chemical solution to the surface of the skin to produce the careful removal of its outer layers.
The amount of skin removed will depend on the type of chemical used, the strength of the product (superficial, medium, or deep) and how long it is left on the skin.
By removing the upper layers of the skin which are often dead or damaged, we can improve the texture and radiance of the skin, leaving it looking and feeling younger, softer, and smoother.

Our Signature Peel – 40% Glycolic Acid
The 40% glycolic acid peel is a superficial peel and perfect if you simply wish to resurface and replenish your skin with a brighter glow and boost of hydration. This Treatment is teamed with Dermalux LED light therapy for enhanced skin results or Reiki healing. A firm favourite at The Harmony Clinic.
*Please note there is no visible peeling with this type of peel.

How does this work?
The glycolic peels involve the application of a chemical solution to your skin in order to speed up the exfoliation process.
They work by speeding up natural cell renewal by removing the outmost layer of the dermis (skin). You will effectively be left with a new layer of skin, one which looks fresher and more youthful.
The strength of the peel determines the length of the downtime and inevitably the result.

Superficial Peel
ZO Stimulation Peel
The ZO Stimulation Peel is a superficial depth peel that gives glowing results with no downtime. It uses a combination of salicylic, lactic, and citric acid to clear away dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, leaving the new, bright, glowing skin underneath.
Medium to Deep Peel:
- The Perfect Peel: This is 5-acid blended peel with Glutathione, Vitamins and Minerals. It is an in-clinic chemical peel which can only be performed by medically trained professionals.
- Zo 3 Step Peel: The ZO 3 step peel, helps strengthen the skin from inside out due to its powerful ingredients including TCA, plant extracts enzymes and high concentration of Vitamin A known as retinol.

No, although you may experience a hot, itchy sensation once the solution is on your skin. This is completely normal, and should subside quickly.
No. It is not recommended for anyone with active skin infections, skin allergies, facial skin cancer, pregnancy or breastfeeding, recent use of Roaccutane (within 6 months of use ) and retinoid. *A full list of side effects, cautions and contraindications will be discussed at face to face consultation.
The most common side effects include redness and irritation and a low risk of scarring and infection. Post inflammatory pigmentation can occur however more likely in those with darker skin. The potential side effects of a glycolic acid peel depend on the depth of the peel and your skin. After a light or medium peel the skin may just feel tight and have some mild redness which usually subsides within 24 hours.
Glycolic peels have no recovery time and you will be able to resume your daily routine almost immediately
A course of 4 – 6 treatments at 1 weekly intervals are recommended for optimum results.
